Lühikirjeldus:
I have established that body and materials possess their intelligence and agency, and that, by practice and repetition, skills can be developed and perfected. But I fear this sounds very automatic or mechanical. I approach technique as something more complex. In the words of Sennet, “Technique considered as a cultural issue rather than a mindless procedure.” It will not be enough to master a movement or skill perfectly, in its mechanical aspect. In traditional craft practices, you involve humanity, history, and traditions, a community with shared backgrounds, passions, or hopes. Craft becomes powerful when it is rooted in communal practices and traditions, in Indigenous cultures these traditions are mostly oral and there is a lack of documentation. It is a kind of knowledge that you learn and develop in a close relationship with your mentors or community.
