My project starts with dinner, with friends and with love. 20 friends are coming to dinner, with the whole table set by me. All the cups, glasses, plates, tablecloths, food have been thought through for the people and that one dinner. The moment of a meal feels like an excuse for the gathering of a chosen family. In my written thesis I talk about the meaning of gathering around food and why we do it. This is exactly why I always go back to food. The domestic, what I call domestic tenderness. The act of taking care of your loved ones, as an action, not as a duty. Taking this word that can be perceived as negative most of the time, and making it ours again. After this gathering, which will be documented, the remains are the tableware. Deciding to set up shop in Keskturg is like a child's dream. A space for the objects to continue existing and to let them go. Letting people in and showing them a little slice of my world. Sharing food and smiles. Selling the pieces is a way for me to spread.
